By now you may have heard the term “overtourism” (ie. cruise ships crashing in Venice). Basically it is just a case of numbers; too many people in a particular place at a particular time. This can have a bad effect not only on the tourist, but on the community they are visiting. It can be stressful and deteriorate the experience for everyone.
Travel is something I want to continue to enjoy so my advice is – don’t go with the flow! What do I mean by that? Visit sites during off-peak hours (very early or very late), or visit different sites altogether. Re-think what you want your travel experience to look like. There are so many untapped, unexplored areas, if you know how to find them!
This is just one of the many reasons I love our tours. We only take very small groups (6-8 max) and we take you to places you may never have thought of visiting but could very well end up being the highlight of your trip!
